Physical agents include the ues of heat, cold, water, electricity, light, and mechanical devices for the rehabilitation of physical dysfunction and movement disorders. This text is targeted toward students preparing to work in the field of rehabilitation and clinicians who use these agents as an adjunct to their practice. The book is written at a level for undergraduate education and for the student who has not had a thorough foundation in general physics or physiology. The book has sections devoted to principles for practice, to application of physical agents, and to decision-making paradigm. We are fortunate to have talented and well-experienced authors for each chapter. These authors are involved in the education of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and occupational therapists.
